tales of entropy
A stage-mounted microscope reveals a series of laboratory samples and invites the audience into a hypnotic visual landscape, exploring shifting states of matter.
This scientific experiment is recorded by an UHD camera and projected live on stage. As the temperature of the different samples changes, the matter transforms and passes from liquid to liquid crystal to crystal, displaying a stunning choreography of colours, patterns and tiny details under polarised light.
Tales of Entropy lets us reflect on the tiniest matters, through the prism of musical expressionism.
Since its creation, Tales of Entropy has evolved through the hands of different musicians, from electronic artists to instrumentalists and ensembles, each imprinting their personal analogue or digital signature on the performance: Boho Strings, François Gaspard, Juanita, La Reine Seule, Papyluc Soundsystem and Roméo Poirier.
The project has also been translated to a series of photographic prints, outreach workshops and plastic art projects in collaboration with Ohme Lab, Aiko Design and Barthélemy Decobecq.
