The Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and the Brussels-based art-science organisation Ohme join forces to recruit a part-time (4/5) Art and Science R&D Coordinator.
Its Ohme Lab division, accredited as an R&D centre by Innoviris, acts as a platform for technical and scientific co-creation, offering design, prototyping and consulting services to the artistic, academic and cultural worlds.
The position is part of the ongoing collaboration between ULB (via STARI) and Ohme Lab, which aims to consolidate the technical and scientific development of the laboratory, strengthen the coordination of ongoing projects and support new dynamics in research, mediation and innovation in art and science.
Ohme is a Brussels-based organisation dedicated to creation, research, production, curation, mediation and education in art and science, at the crossroads of the arts, sciences, technologies and societal issues. Founded in 2017, it sees transdisciplinarity as a driver of creation, innovation, imagination and knowledge sharing. The organisation brings together artists, researchers, designers, engineers and students to collaborate on innovative themes and methodologies through a variety of formats: artistic and curatorial productions, research residencies, exhibitions, educational programmes and R&D projects. Its activities connect formal, fundamental and applied sciences with the humanities and social sciences, including philosophy, and explore fields such as cognition, ecology, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, democracy, materials science and perception.
The Service de soutien transversal aux activités de recherche et d’innovation (STARI) of the ULB Research and Innovation Support Department supports the university community in the management, promotion and dissemination of research, with a particular focus on technological, digital and societal innovation. In this context, STARI collaborates with external actors whose activities extend and reinforce the university’s public service mission. Among them, Ohme occupies a unique place.
