]unframed[
]unframed[ invites a broad public to discover how artistic practice and scientific knowledge intersect through dialogue, close observation and live performance.
The 2019 edition, commissioned by Les Garages Numériques Festival in Brussels, focuses on unveiling the sciences behind a selection of artworks in the festival exhibition. Through talks, guided encounters and performances, artists and scientists come together to reveal the technologies and scientific concepts embedded in the works. Moving between neuroscience, physics, astronomy and computation, the programme encourages curiosity, proximity and conversation.

The 2020 edition at Pilar adopts a more thematic format, centred on the notion of fluidity as a concept shared across disciplines yet understood in different ways. Scientists from the humanities and life sciences enter into dialogue around how fluidity operates in matter, bodies, politics and society, and how these perspectives can inform one another. Rather than offering a single definition, ]unframed[ frames fluidity as a space of exchange, reinforcing the project’s broader aim: to create accessible, critical encounters where artistic and scientific ways of knowing intersect.
