music & technology corner

A day-long public programme dedicated to electronic music and technology, with talks, hands-on workshops and live performances.

Across the 2017 and 2018 editions of the Brussels Electronic Marathon, the Music & Technology Corner establishes itself as a space where electronic music intersects with technology. The programme brings together artists, practitioners, researchers and audiences for a day-long exploration of how electronic music is produced and experienced.

Both editions combine talks and workshops that connect creative practice with scientific perspectives. Topics range from sound synthesis and experimental instrument design to interactivity and the material conditions of music-making. A repair café and circuit-bending sessions invite participants to open up, fix and transform electronic devices, and to reflect on sustainability and reuse.

Live performances run throughout the day and into the evening, with DJ sets, modular and hybrid live performances, audiovisual works and mechatronic pieces. Across both editions, the Music & Technology Corner functions as a shared platform where learning, making and performing coexist, highlighting electronic music as a collective, evolving field shaped by tools, knowledge and exchange.
