Job opening | Communication manager

We are looking for a bilingual colleague (French/Dutch) to develop and implement a communications strategy in conjunction with the team, in order to raise the profile of Ohme’s activities and reach new audiences.

Responsibilities

Develop a communications strategy in line with Ohme’s activities and implement it through the various online and offline communications media;
Analysing the performance of communications activities and adapting the strategy according to the findings;
Create editorial and visual content in English, French and Dutch for communication and mediation media;
Managing and feeding existing channels (website, newsletter, META, LinkedIn);
Produce visual and graphic materials for communication and outreach activities, while ensuring a coherence with Ohme graphic and visual identity.

Additional tasks will be added to the above and may evolve according to the needs of the organisation. Here is a non-exhaustive list:

Managing relations with external service providers (as part of the communications work);
Helping to draft the annual activity report;
Proofreading grant applications to Dutch-speaking funding bodies;
Developing and maintaining relations with the media.

Profile

We are looking for someone who:
• Has excellent writing and interpersonal skills;
• Has a perfect command of Dutch and is fluent in French (English would be an asset) both orally and in writing;
• Has a good command of social networks and is familiar with the latest trends and best practices;
• Is able to use Adobe Indesign and Photoshop, Mailchimp, WordPress and office tools (Office suite, Google suite);
• Is creative, communicative, rigorous and able to work on several projects at the same time as part of a multidisciplinary team;
• Has a good knowledge of the cultural landscape in Belgium.

Ohme is a young organisation based in Brussels. We are looking for a dynamic colleague who is enthusiastic about working in an entrepreneurial spirit.

Qualifications and experience

We believe that experience, skills and motivation are more important than a degree.

That’s why we’re looking for someone with at least 5 years’ experience in digital communications and audience development, ideally in the arts and culture sector.

Conditions

Type of contract

We offer a part-time, fixed-term contract from 19 August 2024 to the end of December 2025, with the possibility of extension, and remuneration in line with the salary scales, plus fringe benefits.

This post may potentially lead to an increase in working time depending on the needs of the association.

The gross salary will only take into account experience directly related to the position.

We are also open to working with freelance professionals.
